The Alabama-based Designer who is well known for his classic style with a fit-for-work-wear appearance, the anticipated collection from CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award winner Billy Reid for J Crew has arrived… in style. The Capsule Collection includes a variety of pieces, ranging from modestly priced to high-quality exquisite pieces that could be considered fashion investments, if you will.

Today, we’ll focus on a few key pieces from the Capsule Collection that will brighten up the look of any outfit this Spring Summer 2011 Fashion Season for Men. To start, a simple polo with a twist on the original design.

The ideal vision behind this creation by Billy Reid was to maintain the integrity of all the formal elements of a proper Polo shirt, while bringing to the design all of the comfortable and breathable features of a casual fishing tee.

A shirt that can be worn alone or with layers, this henley is a lightweight answer to all men’s summer attire. The patch pockets maintain the classic henley appearance, while the addition of a few key details make a refreshed design to a classic long-sleeved breathable tee.

The Capsule Collection Trouser’s by Billy Reid also feature the Japanese Cotton Chambray fabric as the super summer sports jacket pictured above. There is a huge comeback in the color grey in terms of men’s jeans, trousers, jackets and blazers, even charcoal colored watch faces are popping up as top men’s fashion picks. These dark to heathered hues of grey will likely be seen for a few Seasons to come as the forefront of certain Men’s Fashion.

“It works well with bucks, or rolled up with a pair of sandals.” Billy Reid designed these trousers with the Sports Jacket in mind.

With a special feature of suspender-ready buttons on the waist, Reid explains that he wanted these creatively fashioned trousers to have a definitive nod to old-school fashions.
