Why Don’t You Have These Headphones?!

These awesomely authentic Aerial7 Royale Headphones are made with genuine full-grain genuine leather, customized cushy ear cups and re-inforced aluminum outer ear housing.  Royale in every way, the isolated design blocks outside noise completely and speakers are equipped with superb 50mm drivers deliver the crystal-clear lows, mids, and highs. With precision sound quality, these radically retro looking headphones invite you to listen to music just the way it was intended!

Powerful and plushy sound puppies, these headphones are seriously stocked with additional premiums for the snobbiest of music snobs. Included with purchase are a heavy duty, extendable coiled DJ cable, a lightweight cable with a mic for using with a cell phone, a 3.5mm to 6.3mm (1/4-inch) adapter, and a carry bag. For the amount of engineering and technical authority the Aerial7 Royale Headphones offer, the price of $399.99 is justified. (not Justin Timberlake ‘cry me a rive’ justified) Just… justified.

I personally wouldn’t be able to allow myself that kind of wallet leverage, as while I’m a music enthusiast, I do still rock my diskman and Sony walkman from the later 90’s.  My requirements for music quality are a little less… sophisticated. 🙂

For those of you that may feel the way I do, that these are simply totally rocking old school style headphones that I adore (and that my ears would love!), you’ve not been forgotten. WeAretheSuperlativeConspiracy, WeSC is at our rescue with retro unisex headphones fitting for vintage fashion and music enthusiasts with the Maraca seasonal headphones (picture below). Available for only $71!

Ever so Awesome Emma Stone Rocks August Cover of Vanity Fair

It’s the next phase, new wave, dance craze, anyways..
It’s still rock & roll to me.

Billy Joel performing It’s Still Rock And Roll To Me. (C) 1980

And in closing for today…

Vanity Fair Cover: Emma Stone August 2011

Emma Stone, one of the most hilarious and just plain cool broads ever know to mankind… Will be sizzling on the July cover of Vanity Fair.

The Actress known for her roles in films like ‘Easy A‘, ‘Zombieland‘, ‘House Bunny‘ and a few more instant classics like ‘Superbad‘ tries to play down just how hot she is.

It’s obviously not working, Emma..

But your humility makes you even more adorable! 🙂

Stone’s in not one, but three flicks this summer: ‘The Help,’ ‘Friends With Benefits’ and ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love.’

“Talking about this stuff is pretty new,” she said when asked about her love life.

Stone, who recently broke up with actor Kieran Culkin, is rumored to be dating her ‘Spider-Man’ co-star Andrew Garfield, but the pair have remained mum on the subject.

Stone, like a true Hollywood pro, reveals that “the only solution I’ve come to when it comes to things like that — the health of my family or dating, really personal things — is not to talk about it.” – From: ‘Emma Stone’s Bad Habits: Sugar, Wine and Heroin‘ By Kelly Fisher

2012 Fashion Trends: Oriental Prints, Fur Trims and Short Hems Coming Soon!

Fashion Trends of 2012:

Expect to see prints of the Orient, Lace and Fur Trimming similar to the style of the 1920’s, and Mod Infused Early ’60s Hemlines

Thanks to great resources like Fashionising.com, getting a heads up on the next years fashion trends is within reach. While it’s still a bit early to predict what significantly different changes will take off with a fluster and what trends will fall as complete blunders in 2012, enough information is available to (at the very least). help us prepare the best way possible.

I can only hope that the biker-chic style that was so eminent in the stylings of 2011 remains steadfast as the year turns, as I still have to purchase both my motorcycle boots and jacket.  Of these two things… I have been virtual window shopping for the entirety of 2011.

Chanel Motorcycle Boots - Introduced During 2010 Fashion Week in NY

Philipp Plein Jacket - A MUST HAVE !!!

Now, that said.. Some new trends, both in prints, fits and hems are rumored to be big hits in the upcoming year of 2012. Of these, expect to see an increase in the street style wearing of Komono‘s, oriental prints will be more common, though expected to be a bit more subtle and floral in use. Exotic silks and authentic vintage Kimono’s would be great pre-planning purchases to be a well-prepared fashionista for 2012!

The vintage fashions of this year certainly will not die off and disappear, but they will morph just a bit. From the sophisticated ’70s style we’ve seen so much of this year, with the soft flowing curls and slinky fabrics, expect a shift into the style of the early 1960’s. We’re talking true Mod Girl stuff here, Peter pan collars, short hems, mod hair styles and the Twiggy fashioned eyeliner may be sneaking it’s way back into the fashion forefront.

This year has already opened itself up to many 1930’s inspired fashions, a trend heightened with the release of the Motion Picture, ‘Water for Elephants.’ For both Men and Women, there has been a throw-back to old-fashioned baseball caps, and early styled lace accented dressings for ladies. With the ‘Great Gatsby’ Film expected to be released in 2012, the same will be seen in relation to 1920’s Flapper Fashion.

Avoid costume like ensembles, as these will be easy to spot and difficult to avoid with an expected over-indulged availability of short black wigs and overdone Flapper dresses. Keep this classic trend modern by introducing the ’20s presence in your style in a minimalistic way. Wide-leg trousers and subtle fur trims are great ways to achieve this style without going overboard.

Wide-Leg Trousers

The Chanel 'Le Boy' (A MUST HAVE for 2012!)

The Chanel ‘Le Boy’ is the ultimate glamour bag, with the classic golden braided strap, and intricate lettered perfection of ‘CHANEL’ stitched along the bag’s wide end, these little puppies will be booming in popularity… I want the red one, bad. Already. 🙂

Fashionising.com: Chanel 'Le Boy'

So, there you have it. A few fashion predictors to help you ease your way into a fashionable 2012 from start to finish. Now, we’ll get to what’s pressing currently, which is the preparation for bathing suit season, of course! Get ready for high waists, retro cuts and prints, the return of the one-piece (with a twist), and the early signs of the 1990’s fashion comebacks…

TOMTOM JEWELRY’s ‘Future ’70s’ Collection: Back In Time With An Architectural Twist

Another Refinery29.com Style Find: TomTom‘s new ’70s-inspired jewelry collection.

TomTom's 'Future '70s' Jewelry Collection

Future 70s Studded Rings by TomTom Jewelry

The various pieces of wearable art by TOMTOM JEWELRY has been a favorite among the press, celebrities, fashionistas and creative expression enthusiasts from the launch of the first collection in 2009. An established architect turned jewelry designer, Elena Coleman Howell utilized her design prowis to conquer graphic design and architecture integration. The result was TOMTOM JEWELRY, a successful modern twist to retro creations that is giving jewelry lines everywhere a run for their money.

While it is easy to spot the detailed precision in certain aspects of the pieces, the jewelry isn’t overly industrial or masculine. There is an element to every piece that brings a beautiful and delicate strength to geometric shapes and hammered metal textures. The unique qualities of the ‘Future ’70s’ Collection include shimmered accents to offset spike designs, the use of hand tie dyed suede to offset the bold bronze chains and hardware and thin golden chains to add a dash of delicate femininity to a totally rocking necklace that can be dressed up, down and manipulated with every chosen ensemble!

“Tribal Matters” ring. It’s available in seven different finishes, I suggest getting a variation of both gold and silver, and it’s just one of the stunning pieces Elena offers up on her website. $155.

Masculine Monday: Princes William and Harry are Among GQ’s Best Dressed in Britain

Masculine Monday Toots it’s Own Horn for Recognizing the Impressive Display of Prince William Style Last Month! 🙂

This news was still unbeknownst to me when we published the Masculine Monday dedicated to Prince Williams Classic Style of Proper Patriotism. Now serving as further proof that their is an undeniable and strong allure to a well-groomed and proper mannered gentlemen who can carry his name and Nation with pride.

Prince William. Prince Harry.

Obviously, nothing is without flaw, and we might have done without Prince Harry‘s daring anti-sematic fashion mistakes. As they say though, no press is bad press, and the buzz around Prince Harry’s more embarrassing ensembles opened the gateway to Style Stardom for Prince Harry.

As a Nation, we feel that we’ve been part of an evolution, a perpetual change in the appearance of the younger Royal Brother. Whether it is in fact the truth or not doesn’t matter much, as he’s worked his way successfully into the soft spots of our American hearts.

Princess Diana with Princes William and Harry

Prince William snagged the number 27 spot, because, as GQ puts it, he is ‘”following in his father’s footsteps as a great ambassador for British style.” He even gets a ringing endorsement from Pharrell Williams: “‘I like it when Prince William goes dandy. He’s got all the proper wardrobe when they do the hunting thing. They kill that!”

Prince Harry landed a top spot on the list at #5.  This top spot was earned through the fashion measures of eliminating effort, truly. GQ fashion experts explain, “he looks good because he really doesn’t care.”

Prince Harry on cover of GQ Magazine

The special edition front page shows the 26-year-old wearing kit for the Walking With The Wounded charity, of which he is patron. He will arrive at the group’s base camp in Longyearbyen, northern Norway, on Tuesday to begin his training, before he heads out into the frozen wasteland on Friday.

Harry will be with his teammates for the first five days of the gruelling walk, which is expected to take around four weeks and will cover up to 200 miles (322km). They will haul sledges weighing more than 220lb (100kg) in temperatures as low as minus 60C (minus 76F).

The Prince told GQ: ”This extraordinary expedition will raise awareness of the debt that this country owes to those it sends off to fight – only for them to return wounded and scarred, physically and emotionally.”

There definitely is something to be said for the power of an attractive man that looks like he’s just rolled out of bed. However, following the Royal Wedding and all of the well-deserved enamored praise for new Bride, Kate Middleton, society may find itself placing more value in the appearance of an obviously groomed, self-aware Prince. I would propose that on the next published list, Prince William’s Classic Style may rank higher among the GQ Experts, with fresh eyes.
Prince William’s Classic Patriotism Style

Congratulations is in order for this impressive Royal Brotherhood, though they come a bit late.

With different approaches to fashion that vary from ultimately traditional to the extremes of casual, both have made their mark on the world of fashion, and what the future has in store for us should be nothing less than an exciting style evolution for both men.

Prince William. Prince Harry.

Gentlemen, if you have been working your way up the fashion ladder in hopes to place among the best dressed in Britain list… Here’s a great wardrobe staple to give you a head start on Royal Style!

Vivienne Westwood Polo Shirt

Now you can consider wearing polos with the famous Vivienne Westwood quirkiness. As always, we’ve got plently of details giving the piece something attractive. Featuring a striped collar and some offbeat white contrasting buttons, this polo is a godsend for the casualwear. That’s all we plan to wear during our summer holidays!

To Stand the Test of Time

I don’t know about you, but as a freelance writer I struggle to work from home. There are so many distractions that eventually end up pushing me to leave the house. This is when I hit a problem; as a writer I need all my things with me, books, magazines, laptop, it all has to come! Now I’m a vintage girl, always have been and always will be! I Love anything that has a story and history behind it, pushing it forward. So when contemplating this problem I decided to use this post to highlight the perfect bag, that is versatile, chic and the longest lasting style of bag in history.

All Herald the Satchel!

The Story
When I was six I got my first satchel, to use for school! It was brown leather and I covered it with stickers and embellishments, creating a rather artistic mess! Although it may have been a mistake to ruin the leather with stickers, it was my prized possession, and lasted me through to high school! My passion for a sturdy satchel has never left me, so when I decided to dedicate this post to the humble satchel I wanted to know more about its history. Here is the short version, but I think it may surprise you!
The satchel was first reported as being a functional accessory as far back as the Romans!

Oh yes that is correct, and they didn’t even look all that far removed from today’s designs! They were used for carrying food and survival kits by the Legionnaires, now that’s what I call a solid grounding in history! It wasn’t until the 17th Century that the Satchel began to be a fashion statement for men and women, this was the birth of the man bag! They were used by gentry and towns people alike, and were at one point the most common design of accessory.

Classic Satchel

In the 1940’s the satchel was known as the ‘evacuee bag’ as it’s where all your papers were kept, and this drove the bag towards its most well-known era, as the school bag – very geek chic!  This has not ended and today the shape and styles hold predominantly true to the original, with two fastening straps and a multitude on inner pockets, perfect for all! This season has seen the arrival of new, brighter and bolder satchels from all corners of the fashion world, from Mulberry to Primark, the colour block satchel is back!

Back!

Mulberry Satchel
The Colour Block

guest 2

So, whilst deliberating how I wear my satchels, I realised that I have two staple versions that give me a very differing look and feeling when I wear them! The first is my colour blocked satchel. It is the one that I wear when I am happy, confident and loud – I’m sure we all have something in our wardrobes that represents those days!
So I proceeded to pull everything out of my wardrobe and devise my perfect look, this is the outcome!
I have started with the amazing foundation of this beautiful, lilac satchel from Cambridge Satchel! This to me is a workable combination of S/S 2011 and the timeless, vintage shape – perfection! This bag is big enough for me to store all my stuff, and trust me there is a lot of stuff! I have a habit of never emptying my bags so they usually just fill up with rubbish, this bag will give me enough room to store my belongings and keep everything neat and tidy – finally there’s a method to my madness! Now, as a curvy girl I find long shoulder straps troublesome if they hit my hips, as it only widens them, this bag has adjustable straps, so that I can bring it up to my waist.
For an overall look I have chosen to style this bag towards a Geek Chic look. I have started with this belted, Ballerina skirt from my ever faithful Warehouse! The colour of this skirt works wonderfully with the bag and it’s quirky enough to ooze style. To complement the skirt I have added a plain white, sheer blouse from The Outnet, no geek look is complete without a pussy bow blouse!
This look is all about the accessories so I chose to start with these ankle socks and brogues both from TopShop. These are great for taller girls, but girls like me who were not blessed with long legs, swap these for wedges! Finally add in Geek glasses from Glassesshop.com and a classic Nixon watch, we all remember these in the 80’s! My nails are the completion of this running theme, I have chosen this slightly clashing shade from OPI.

The Hippy

guest blog

My other satchel staple is a vintage embroidered number that has been with me for over 10 years! It never goes out of fashion and is still practical – the perfect blend! When I use this bag I feel ethereal and earthy, it puts me back on the ground and celebrates my love of Mother Nature. So here is a similar bag, that I have found, that I feel will give you the same feeling!
This amazing and different example of the Satchel from TopShop, is not only a great example of the current 70’s trend but also a great staple that will last for years to come. Firstly I love the shape of this bag, it has a slightly Swedish feel to it that I simply adore. The floral printed leather is also chic and simple, it is noticeable but also adds textures – this can only add value to this investment!
As this is a smaller version, I can wear this at a longer length, it won’t hit my hips as badly as the larger version, and this would work great as a cross over.
I have styled this bag with a typical outfit that I would wear with mine, so I wanted to start with this seasons favourite Palazzo pant also from TopShop. The colour of these trousers are perfect for me, they ooze femininity and playfulness. These are also great for all sizes – yey! I have teamed these with this amazing denim number from
Miss Selfridge. To complete the look I have styled with these wedges from Sam Edelman, Miss Dior perfume, sweet and light like the outfit and necklace also from Miss Selfridge.

Go and invest in a Satchel this season, not only are you  investing in history but you are also grabbing a staple that will last through your history!

To my dear Alex,

Thank you for the opportunity to blog with you – it has been so much fun!
Your support means the world to me!

Love from your friend across the pond,

Clever Little Caz x

Chanel’s 2011/2012 Cruise Collection: Fine Jewelry, Fabulous Fashion and a Feature Film by Karl Lagerfeld

Chanel Cruise Collection Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld premiers ‘The Tale of a Fairy’ at the Cannes Film Festival

Chanel Cruise Collection 2011

Karl Lagerfeld has just premiered his short film for the Chanel Cruise Collection, ‘The Tale of a Fairy’. The film was presented at the Cannes Film Festival just last week, and there is a note-worthy buzz over the eccentric tactics of the Chanel Cruise Collection’s Creative Director in regard to film making.

The Chanel 2011/2012 Cruise Collection received an extra dose of publicity on Monday 9th, 2011 when screened before an exclusive guest list.

“It is a movie about an ill-advised use of money which begins with violence and ends with feeling” Karl Lagerfeld, May 2011

The Cannes Film Festival exclusive premiered at the exclusive Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc at the Cap d’Antibes. “The Tale of a Fairy’ is a short film created by Karl Lagerfeld to accompany Chanel’s 2011/2012 Cruise Collection. The suggested center of what will be Cannes Film Festival controversy, ‘The Tale of a Fairy’ ran for just under an hour and a half, leaving nothing to be desired in the dramatic controversy department. Risky cinematic scenes and subjects included a topless Danish model, Freja Beha and the tunnel-visioned plot built upon a key focus of controversy by way of exaggerated fame… Money. Madness. Narcissism.

‘The Tale of a Fairy’ stars the muse of Karl Lagerfeld, Amanda Harlech. Other roles are portrayed by models Kristen McMenamy, Freja Beha, Bianca Balti, Baptiste Giabiconi, Brad Koening, Jake Davies, Mark Vanderloo, Oriol Elcacho, Karl’s bodyguard Sebastien Jondeau, model Seth Kuhlmann and French actress Anna Mouglalis.

The Cannes Film Festival is the world’s most prestigious film festival, looming over all others, a privileged moment for celebrating past glories and great expectations. Established in 1946, it takes place each May at Cannes, a town along the French Riviera.

Every year Cannes appears, alluring and forbidding, a haunted palace that knows better than to open wide its doors, become democratic or user-friendly — leave that to the North Americans. The competition choices obey a certain logic: the festival is faithful to those who have triumphed and those who have suffered.

The Marché du Film, where meetings, negotiations and deals take place in parallel to the Festival de Cannes, draws more than 10,000 buyers and sellers from around the world, according to the festival’s organizers

The invitations featured the image above, and all guests and invites have remained tightly sealed from the media.

The unique and captivating beauty of Model Saskia de Brauw provided the Press Kit Release of the 2011/2012 Chanel Cruise Collection with a fluid presence of minimalistic, monochromatic strength. In the same emotionally charged, moving manner which (those of you who remember this fashion craze) was utilized in the successful campaign for the unisex CK One Fragrance, the use of crisp displays and clean lines of black and white evokes an unexpected bright and vibrant response in the Press Release photos of the Chanel Cruise Collection 2011/12.

In other Chanel news, Blake Lively has been getting a hefty chunk of media attention following the announcement of her role as the new Chanel Campaign Girl. WWD chatted the star up during a dinner to celebrate her ambassador role, where Blake revealed she dances to the Lion King soundtrack, and listed her style inspirations—Grace Kelley, Audrey Hepburn, and Sienna Miller.

Blake Lively – Chanel

The Following is an excerpt taken from a March 2011 Editorial by by MILES SOCHA at WWD, ‘Catching Up With Blake Lively‘ just prior to Fashion Week in Paris:

“I have such a respect for fashion and such an appreciation for it that if there are people like Karl Lagerfeld out there designing, who am I?” she asks. “I want to bow down to them and be a representative for them if they’ll have me.”

Lively says that her admiration for Lagerfeld is such that she’s surprised the photo session for the handbag campaign didn’t yield images of her “with my jaw on the floor.” At the end of the shoot, she pulled out her cell phone to capture an image of Lagerfeld behind the camera pointed at her.

As easily as she navigates the entertainment and fashion worlds, Lively seems as excited about what other ventures acting might bring her.

“I do plan to open a few restaurants one day. I will be the chef, I will create the menus, I will decorate,” she says, rattling off plans to do a brunch place first, then one dishing up Southern cuisine, followed by world food.

Kiera Knightley to Star in Upcoming Chanel Film Directed by Joe Wright

While Blake Lively has big plans for herself and her affiliation with Chanel, Kiera Knightley (who has been working with the top name in Fashion since 2007) isn’t falling into her shadows. In fact, Kiera is also moving forward with Chanel, recently wrapping up a kittenish pictorial and starring in an upcoming  three-minute Chanel Film dedicated to the famous fragrance, Coco Mademoiselle.
