Selling Jewelry On Craiglist

Selling jewelry on craigslist. Is it risky business? You can use craigslist to sell just about anything and its a great place to do so, but when are you crossing a line between selling and putting your life at risk? If you are considering selling your jewelry, watches, diamonds, precious metals or other valuable items on craigslist, you may want to think again. There was a news report out of Washington state about a man named James Sanders. He apparently listed a diamond ring for sale on craigslist. He arranged for would-be buyers to come to his house to view the ring for sale. Four suspects have now been placed under arrest for the murder of James Sanders. The four have been linked to other similar craigslist robberies. This is an extreme case. However, it may make you think twice before trying to sell your luxury items privately via craigslist or other online selling forums in which you would meet your potential buyers in person. If you are going to use an online selling forum such as craigslist, there are a few things you should keep in mind.

– Don’t give your full name to potential buyers.
– Do not display your full email address in the posting.
– Do not give your address
– Meet potential buyers in a public place.
– Do not bring them to your home.

Stay safe!
