Victor Costa Summer Dress

As you know, one of our absolute favorite Vintage Fashion Blogs is Karla’s Closet.  The beautiful girl behind the blog has a strong magnetic pull to all things Vintage, and models her creations with detailed descriptions of the accessories, shoes and even backgrounds of her vintage adorned captures!

Karla's Closet

Today, I stumbled across a sweet summer dress, one of those fantastic light cotton swing dresses that could make you feel like it was a warm summer day even in a few feet of snow… A Victor Costa cotton poplin vintage dress.

With a Clara Kasavina Swarovski ring and Chloe bow sandals, the innocently white with blue trim summer dress is accented perfectly. Take a look…

Our Palm Beach County Vintage Jewelry Neighbor House of Lavande… and Alicia Silverstone’s Son, ‘Bear Blu’

Founded by Jewelry Connoisseur Tracy Smith, House of Lavande is a vintage couture jewelry collection that includes a vast variety of jewelry, accessories and wearable art from throughout the 20th century. Established right here in Palm Beach County, the vintage jewelry collection has been flourishing in popularity over the past five years.

Tracy Smith, Founder of House of Lavande

The fan list of House of Lavande includes many famous faces, celebrities well-known for their signature and stand-out styles. Clients to House of Lavande include, just to name a few…Alicia Silverstone, Lauren Conrad, Jessica Biel, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Ginniger Goodwin and Elizabeth Banks.

Isla Fisher, whom I adore completely, feels the same way about House of Lavande. Here, Isla Fisher wears a Tory Burch  her natural golden red waves with contrasting purple crystal and diamond statement earrings by House of Lavande.

Alicia Silverstone

Alicia Silverstone, new Mother to son Bear Blu (a name that currently has chills running down the spine of sons world-wide, being dubbed by the Blogosphere Inhabitants as ‘The Worst Celebrity Baby Name Ever) is a proud supporter and long-term client of the vintage jewelry collection of House of Lavande. She promotes the wearing vintage jewelry nearly as much as she supports living a strictly vegan lifestyle!

Pictured above, Alicia Silverstone promoted her new book, “The Kind Diet”  in Los Angeles just six weeks ago. Preparing for Motherhood, a pregnant Alicia wore a loose fitting Rebecca Taylor dress, shoes by Aldo and accessories by House of Lavande.

It’s the first child for the Clueless star, 34, and her husband Christopher Jarecki.

“My husband and I welcomed our 7 lb 15 oz baby boy Bear Blu Jarecki into the world on May 5 at 7:50 a.m. We are all three in love,” she wrote. “I’m so grateful to this community for all the love, support, good wishes and happy vibes you’ve sent me during my pregnancy… it has been wonderful. Thank you all!”

Old Hollywood Glam, Complements of TheBeautyDepartment.com!

A Video Tutorial to Vintage Touches, Complements of:  TheBeautyDepartment.com: Old Hollywood Glam

Here’s a simple way to get a vintage inspired look. Eventually we’ll be going into more advanced looks, but some of you may have never tried this look before and we don’t want to scare you off! Pair this video with the “Hint of Vintage” photo tutorial for the ultimate loveliness!

Tools: Foundation, foundation brush or sponge, translucent powder or light-weight powder, blush brush, bronzer, black liquid liner, black mascara, red lipstick

•      Start by applying an even layer of foundation to your face being sure to cover any redness, blemishes or dark circles.

•      Lightly dust your face with powder for a velvety finish.

•      Comb through your brows and fill them in using a brown pencil one shade darker than your natural color.

•      Sweep bronzing powder starting directly under your cheekbones, across your hair line and under your jaw line.

•      Now apply black liquid liner to your lids and extend the line beyond the corner of your eye for added drama.

•      Next apply two coats of black mascara.

•      To complete the look, apply red lipstick.

The unique, flirty and ultimately classic ensemble you see here is just one of the ‘all vintage clothing‘ creations of the vintage-inspired business venture, Karla’s Closet.

A strictly vintage clothing store, Karla’s Closet items are all pre-worn.

Amazing fashion ensembles created from combinations of the Karla’s Closet eclectic inventory can be found with detailed descriptions right here… on the Karla’s Closet Blog.

In this photo, Karla models one of most fabulous outfits I’ve ever seen. Described by the Model/ Author/ Entrepreneur herself as:

“A vintage Ungaro skirt that I found on Ebay, an American Apparel striped sweater, 70s Erwin Pearl necklace,  Balenciaga sunglasses, my favorite Coach clutch, and Christian Louboutins.”

Clock Inspired 70s Erwin Pearl necklace

This timepiece-inspired statement necklace by jewelry designer Erwin Pearl, circa 1970’s is (in my humble and personal opinion), the glue that holds this bodacious outfit together. Sometimes an outfit even as adorable and stylish as this one, with a great pink pencil skirt and amazing matching clutch and heels still needs that one illuminating piece of jewelry that ties every piece together in perfect stylish harmony.
