BEST AND WORST STYLE MAGAZINE COVER GIRLS

WHO SELLS MAGAZINES?

The economy is hitting everyone, and fashion magazines are no exception. So what do you do when the sales are low? Well,  if you are Vogue, you just put Lady Gaga on the cover.

Sales for ALL major fashion titles were in the tank this year. Vogue, however, manages to kick up a 12% increase. The closest competitor was Allure, who was only able to manage keeping the sales flat. No increase, but NO decrease. A Victory in 2011!

So, Lady Gaga we get. After all she’s a fashion dream come true. Risk! Unique! Fun! So why is the other glam mag gold people like Kim Kardashian, or Lauren Conrad? What do they bring to the table. Comment below and let us know why the magazine cover girl treasures are who they are and why do they sell magazines!

WHO IS KILLING SALES BY BEING ON THE COVER?

Well, poor Reese Witherspoon is nothing less than pure dismal to sales, she’s the albatross around both Vogue and People Style’s necks… Is she just a boring person? What is the deal with her killing magazine sales? Any thoughts?

Other cover “stinkers” are Joanna Coles (Marie Claire) “group ensemble” covers.  Yikes! And anything with a man on it. Apparently Glamour is a girls club:) No boys allowed!

So why are sales so dismal this year, apart from the economy? Well… Maybe Glam Mags don’t sell because they don’t put actual models on the cover??? Ya think?

Alicia Silverstone

Alicia Silverstone, new Mother to son Bear Blu (a name that currently has chills running down the spine of sons world-wide, being dubbed by the Blogosphere Inhabitants as ‘The Worst Celebrity Baby Name Ever) is a proud supporter and long-term client of the vintage jewelry collection of House of Lavande. She promotes the wearing vintage jewelry nearly as much as she supports living a strictly vegan lifestyle!

Pictured above, Alicia Silverstone promoted her new book, “The Kind Diet”  in Los Angeles just six weeks ago. Preparing for Motherhood, a pregnant Alicia wore a loose fitting Rebecca Taylor dress, shoes by Aldo and accessories by House of Lavande.

It’s the first child for the Clueless star, 34, and her husband Christopher Jarecki.

“My husband and I welcomed our 7 lb 15 oz baby boy Bear Blu Jarecki into the world on May 5 at 7:50 a.m. We are all three in love,” she wrote. “I’m so grateful to this community for all the love, support, good wishes and happy vibes you’ve sent me during my pregnancy… it has been wonderful. Thank you all!”
