Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: Maxim’s #1 Girl Arrives in Style to Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty Gala

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has recently been awarded the coveted title of ‘Hottest Woman in the World’ on Maxim Magazine‘s Hot 100 List, in addition to recently having received the CinemaCon’s Female Star of Tomorrow vote.  You may recognize this 24 year old beauty from the runway, commercials, or pages of the Victoria’s Secret enterprise.

The model is quickly moving up in the world of Hollywood, replacing Megan Fox in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, expected to be released later this Summer. While many expected Megan Fox to return in the third Transformers Film, it seems the friction between Fox and Transformers Director Michael Bay was such that he felt a new face was necessary for Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

For more on Megan Fox, the bane of Michael Bay’s Existence, and why….  Read This.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley attended the ‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty’ Costume Gala on Monday, along-side boyfriend Jason Statham. Rosie was stunning in her custom rose silk gown, a nude python clutch, and shoes all by Burberry.  She finished off her look with Fred Leighton jewels. Absolutely stunning!

We couldn’t help but notice how very ’70s sophisticate the gown and accessories were, in style, fabric and fit. This is a fashion trend that few have been able to pull off so (seemingly) effortlessly. Many times, too many competing pieces of yellow gold jewelry, or an overdose of sequins and playful colors, can decidedly destroy the classy appeal of what Rosie Huntington-Whiteley succeeded in on Monday in New York City.

The breathtaking Actress took her first public photo’s with British Actor boyfriend, Jason Statham of  The Expendables.

Be sure to check out the ‘Hottest Woman in the World’ this Summer in ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ alongside Shia LaBeouf.

Elisha Cuthbert Premiering Tonight in new ABC Series, and Rocks a Red Vawk Dress at 2011 Heart Truth Fashion Show

Elisha Cuthbert: Premiers as Comedic Lead on Tonight’s Premier of ABC’s ‘Happy Endings

You may remember this Canadian Beauty as Kim Bauer, the daughter of Jack Bauer in the infamous FOX Series, 24.  If you weren’t into real-time counter-terrorism plots, perhaps you’ll remember her as the sultry ‘Girl Next Door‘ in 2004. The lovable Miss Elisha Cuthbert also played the role of a soon to be replaced lead singer in the 2005 music video for ‘Perfect Situation‘ by Weezer.

On tonight’s premier episode Elisha will be appearing as Alex, the leading female role in ABC’s new comedic-romance series, Happy Endings. The pilot is rumored to kick off with Alex, the 22 year-old character played by Cuthbert, running from the alter on the day she is to marry long-time boyfriend Dave. Zachary Knighton will be playing the role of Dave on the Wednesday night premier of ABC’s Happy Endings. The six-person ensemble cast will also include the strong acting skills of Eliza CoupeDamon Wayans Jr., Adam Pally and Casey Wilson.

ABC's Ensemble Cast: Happy Endings

While admittedly against their own initial hesitance for another Friends carbon copy sitcom, critics are reviewing that the ensemble cast is stronger than those we’ve seen within the last few years.  The premier of Happy Endings will air tonight on ABC at 9:30/8:30C, after Modern Family. Elisha Cuthbert has announced that her upcoming role as Alex in Happy Endings is the edgy, comedic new  role that she’s been waiting for.

Last month, Canadian-born Actress Elisha Cuthbert wore a one of a kind mini-dress by Vawk on March 24th for the fourth annual Heart Truth Fashion Show in Toronto. The Carlu in Toronto was the venue providing the catwalk on which Cuthbert strutted the daring red mini by Vawk, amongst several other celebrities taking part in the Heart Truth Campaign.

Elisha Cuthbert Dazzles at 2011 Heart Truth Fashion Show

Famous faces at the Toronto Fashion Show for Heart Health Awareness included Suzanne Somers, Eve, Dania Ramirez, Denise Richards, Audrina Patridge and Camila Alves, girlfriend of the encouraging Matthew McConaughey. Not all styles were as dangerously draped as Elisha’s deep red mini by Vawk, as a demure Denise Richards was sporting a ’70s socialite look in an empire waist dress by Matthew Williamson.

Celebrities were styled in a wide array of red designs, fabrics and cuts in a deliberate effort to draw National attention to Heart Truth. Each gowns, dress and mini worn in the Fashion Show were of the same constancy in color, derived from deeply embedded red hues and sweeping saturation.

In our own virtual way, we would like to contribute with the same fluidly ruby consistency to the National awareness of Heart Health. Here are a few select pieces of incredible jewelry in which we would have chosen to be part of the fashion event in Toronto… If time travel and a DeLorean were readily available, that is.

Solid rich ruby color is all you see in these beautiful drop earrings. These earrings are simple, but dramatic with just the right punch of color. They are sure to please any woman who wears them. The color is rich like the ripest raspberry.

In other news… We would like to send our very best wishes to new Bride, Reese Witherspoon and Husband Jim Toth. The happy couple were married in a 20 minute ceremony and exchanged wedding rings designed by jeweller William Goldberg.

Fashion Icon: Milla Jovovich becomes Brand Ambassador for Jacob & Co.

Milla Jovovich is a model and actress that has seen her career sky rocket in the last decade. Many of you may know her from The Fifth Element and The Resident Evil series of movies. Milla Jovovich is not your typical Hollywood actress; she immigrated from the Soviet Union at a very early age and started to model at nine to help support her family. Since that early age Ms. Jovovich has worked exhaustively to get her modeling and acting career off the grown, by her late teens she had successfully found her way into many film sets. Today Ms. Jovovich is a multi-millionaire, business entrepreneur and the new face of the luxury jewelry company, Jacob & Co.

It is no wonder that Jacob & Co. chose Milla as their new brand ambassador. Her story of success strongly reflects Jacob and Co. modest origins, both started from humble roots and through hard work  rose to the top. Jacob & Co. was looking for the perfect personality that would closely fit their image: someone who was a sophisticated world traveler, self-accomplished and exudes an assertive feminine personality.

Jacob & Co.  was founded in 1981 by Jacob Arabo, this relatively new NYC based watch company has been a hit with celebrities and watch aficionados alike. Jacob Arabo grew up in Russia and immigrated to the United States as a young boy. Mr. Arabo has always had a strong interest for jewelry and decided to enroll into jewelry design school in order to flame his passion. He graduated top of his class and immediately opened a small both in New York City’s diamond district. His talents did not go unnoticed and soon he was commissioned to design pieces for a number of jewelry brands and private clients.

For over a decade Jacob Arabo was hard at work trying to enlarge his presence in the jewelry industry; he got his big break when he started to designing jewelry and watches for the music industry. Word spread quickly and soon Jacob Arabo was the top jeweler of the music world. Artists loved his unique style and his willingness to experiment with different styles.

Jacob & Co. most successful watch was the Five Time Zone watch, this piece proved very popular as many of Jacob Arabo’s clients often traveled around the world and needed a watch that displayed multiple time zones. Featuring a main dial set to local time and four smaller dials showing the time in New York, LA, Tokyo and Paris. Many models have been released often adjourned with diamonds around the bezel; the case is made in stainless steel, gold or platinum. Each model of this watch comes with different colored bands that can be interchanged easily. Newer collections incorporate Arabo’s singular sense of style and truly beautiful wristwatches.

    Elizabeth Taylor: A Glamorous Remembrance

    Long Live Elizabeth Taylor

The Legacy of Liz: Grace, Gratitute and Glamour

The unforgettably magnetic and poised Academy Award winning Actress, Elizabeth Taylor took her final leave yesterday, March 23, 2011. Reportedly a result of congestive heart failure, Taylor passed while surrounded by her four children at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Following the tragic loss of his legendary Mother, Taylor’s Son Michael Wilding released the statement, “My Mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts.”

    Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Rosemond “Liz” Taylor will be fondly remembered by her children, close friends (Elton John was among the most publically distraught over the loss of his great friend.) and in the hearts of fans world-wide for her extraordinary grace and generosity, humanitarian work and AIDS activism. With bright violet eyes and an on-screen presence that captured the hearts of film audiences, critics and eventually, eight different husbands, Liz Taylor embodied the strength, beauty and selflessness of a true icon.

We will celebrate the gift of Elizabeth Taylor‘s life in a glamorous remembrance. While the sensational actress was expressively fond of  extraordinary jewelry, diamonds and sapphires, she somehow managed to escape such claims of materialism or superficiality. As far as Hollywood is concerned, this may be the last time such a success is made. Perhaps it was her qualities of ultimate grace and sincerity that she was not made to endure the media ridicule we see today among celebrities sporting elaborate jewels.

Liz Taylor - Vanity Fair Cover

Behind her famously worn 33.19 carat Krupp Diamond ring and the 69.42 carat  Taylor-Burton Diamond, cut by Harry Winston and adorned in a diamond-dripped Cartier  necklace, lies one of the greatest love stories of the 20th century.

Twice-married husband and lover of over 20 years, Richard Burton had purchased both for his love, Miss Elizabeth Taylor. In reference to the Taylor-Burton diamond, regarded as the world’s first million-dollar diamond and often coined ‘the Taj-Mahal,’ Richard Burton publicly retorted, “I would have liked to buy her the Taj-Mahal.”

There was a genuine once-in-a-lifetime love between Burton and Taylor. Their 20-years and two marriages together were full of great challenges, turbulence, passion, jealousy and infatuation. Last year Elizabeth Taylor spoke of her relationship with Richard Burton in an interview with Vanity Fair.

Among revealing a selection of love letters she’d received from him through the years, Miss Taylor offered a glimpse into their love affair, “Richard was magnificent in every sense of the word. From those first moments in Rome [on the set of Cleopatra] we were always madly and powerfully in love.” She continued to wear the Krupp diamond ring he had given her in 1968, sporting the spectacular stone in her 2003 interview with Larry King.

In 1978, Elizabeth Taylor had the  Taylor-Burton diamond auctioned for $5,000,000, used to build a state-of-the-art hospital in Botswana, Southern Africa. Recognized for her advocacy in Aids research, Elizabeth Taylor was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 1993. The American Foundation for AIDS Research, for which Taylor was a longtime advocate, made the following statement in response to the news of her death, “She leaves a monumental legacy that has improved and extended millions of lives and will enrich countless more for generations to come.”

In honorable memory, dedicate an hour or two to celebrate the iconic beauty of Miss Elizabeth Taylor. Her violet eyes are accented with Bvlgari jewelry in the 1973 film, “Ash Wednesday,” where you can catch a glimpse of her 50 carat sapphire ‘sautoir’ (necklace and pendant) and the sugarloaf sapphire ring by one of her favorite jewelry designers. Taylor wears a pair of classic natural pearl earrings in the film, also by Bvlgari. Elizabeth Taylor was also a fan of William Goldberg jewelry, discreetly known for the world’s most breathtaking diamonds.

The Academy-Award winning Actress notably enjoyed wearing her own jewels in movies, and did so more than any other actress. Read about the backlash one Director received when he tried to hault such indepence in personal appearance in Liz Taylor’s book, My Love Affair With Jewelry.”

Never quitting, Velvet decides to ride, disguised as a young man. I won’t give away the ending… Elizabeth Taylor is endearing as the dreamy-eyed, innocent, yet determined Velvet Brown. Riding as a girl, she also does many of her own riding scenes. It’s a great movie, a great family movie, and definitely a great choice for animal people and especially “horse people.” Velvet also displays the  big dreams that are often associated childhood, but combines them with hard work and undying determination, and Elizabeth Taylor gives Velvet a great human appeal.
