2010 Fall Watch Trends- Watch Sell

Blacked-Out Trend

Increasingly men  are staring to view watches as a fashion statement rather than just an instrument of telling time.  A simple brown leather band watch can make a navy blue suit look great or a white watch with a colorful nylon strap can dress up a pair of khakis. Here are some of the falls 2010 most popular watch trends.

The Military Watch: The military watch is based on designs from simple and effective watches created during War World II. These watches were mass produced for pilots and GI s who needed a watch with little to no glare and easy to read dial. Today’s military watches incorporate these qualities and tend to have  matte bezels, rugged nylon or leather straps and simple illuminated dials. Military watches go great with heavy materials such as tweed, flannel or corduroy.

Ceramic Watch: If you want to stand out from the crowd and make your presence known try a ceramic watch this fall. Top luxury watch makers have seen their ceramic watch collections soar as men hope to differentiate themselves in a business world filled with enormous heavy metallic watches. If you are in the market for quality ceramic watch expect to pay close to $1,000, Raymond Lee Jewelers sells pre-owned ceramic watches at deep discounts.

Ultra Modern Watch: Ultra modern watches with unique LED and digital dials are very popular among young professionals. Many of these watches break free from tradition and tell time with dials that only the wearer can interpret. For example one popular watch has bacteria shaped holes on its dial that light up with red, yellow and green LEDs, mimicking  an infection spreading across the dial. Each color represents a unit of time, red equals hours, yellow equals minutes and green equals seconds. Gucci is planning a whole collection based on this trend. Watch Sell

Blacked-Out Watch: These watches are for those looking for a more traditional watch that is both discreet and masculine. Blacked-out watches stray far from the flashy or elaborate timepieces that have become popular over the years. Of all the trends this fall this type of watch is my favorite. Brera Orologi has a great black matte stainless steel watch with rugged crowns for $650 and Breitling has released a blacked-out diving chrono on a rubber strap for $6,785. For those of you who are like me and are looking for something a bit cheaper, Nixon has a limited edition matte black watch with a rich black dial and gray matte markers on a black nylon strap for $120.

Whatever trend you are seeking Raymond Lee Jewelers will have it at a great price.

Concord: A History- Watch Sell

Founded in 1908 in Bienne, Switzerland, Concord is one of the worlds most renowned makers of technical watches. For over a century Concord has developed innovative and extremely complex technical features for its watches.

When Concord was created the luxury watch market was saturated with competitors, each vying for a limited number of clientele. Concord carved out a niche for itself by creating watches that could be considered works of art. Each watch was made out of platinum and accented with diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires. Each gem was rigorously studied and only those that precisely matched the appearance of the watch were chosen. This practice continued for decades and eventually led the release of  La Scala Grande, a watch that had 292 brilliant-cut diamonds. It was with this laboriously adherence to perfection that Concord was able to steadily build a loyal clientele.

In 1920 Concord began to focus more intently on watch design and creating complex technical features that its competitors could not match. This led to the unveiling of the Concord Ring clock (a portable eighth day alarm clock) that would become one of Concords best selling watches; many head of states swore by its precise alarm.

In 1969 Concord was purchased by the Movado Group, which owns Movado, Ebel, ESQ Coach, Hugo Boss, Juicy Couture watches, Lacoste and Tommy Hilfiger watches. This new ownership led to a period of great success for Concord. During this time Concord tapped into its decades of technical expertise and created the Delirium watch in 1979,  the thinnest watch ever made at the time at 1.98 mm thick. Later a delirium 2 which was released which was even thinner, measuring at a then amazing 1.5 mm.

In 1980 Concord continued to flourish with its release of the Mariner sports watch and 1986 the Saratoga. Both of these watches would have various new versions released over the years that proved just as popular as the original. One version of the Saratoga, the Exor, released in 1995 was inspired by the Concord designs of the past. The Exor was so heavily decorated with gems that it was ranked among the world’s most expensive jeweled creations. Watch Sell.

Concord watches of today have three main categories of style: sport, fashion and sport luxury.   Some of the most popular models includes  Bennington, the Carlton,  La Scala, Sportivo and the Veneto. The Bennington’s are water resistant watches that have crocodile straps and come in 18K yellow gold or stainless steel. The Carlton is sleek and stylish and comes with a mother-of-pearl dial and is also water resistant. La Scala has a retro, geometric design with its many angles and curves. The Sportivo combines a sporty look with flair and is offered in stainless steel with diamonds. The Veneto is available in 18K gold and comes in either a square, round, rectangular, or Tonneau case and is encrusted with diamonds.
