Top 3 Biggest Diamonds in the World

Out of curiosity, I decided to look up some of the biggest diamonds in the world and share this information with you.

1. The Golden Jubilee

This diamond has a weight of 545.67 carats. This is the largest faceted diamond in the world. Discovered in the Premier Mine of South Africa, the gemstone was presented to the king of Thailand in 1997 for his Golden Jubilee (hence the name) – the 50th anniversary of his coronation. The estimated value of this stone is anywhere between 4-12 million dollars.

2. Cullinan I or The Star of Africa

Weighing in at 530.20 carats, this contender comes in second place as the world’s biggest diamond. The diamond measures approximately 53 x 44 x 29 mm and has 76 facets. This diamond is known as Cullinan I because it’s the largest of 9 stones cut from a 3106 carat Cullinan Diamond. This diamond is currently in display at the tower of London and has a net worth of over $400 million.

3. The Incomparable

The Incomparable is the third largest diamond in the world with a carat weight of 407.48 carats. The stone was found in the town of Mbuji Mayi in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the latter part of the 20th century. The diamond measures approximately 54 x 35 x 28 mm with an internally flawless clarity and brownish-yellow color.
